We're having a WINCH National Glider Flight Academy 2009 - Rocky Mountain Region. Click the link upper left for information.
The Glider Program of the Colorado Wing supports the Wing Cadet Program and CAP National programs in many ways including:
We have two ASK-21 gliders assigned to the Colorado Wing fleet to support these activities. 1CP and 2AF are based at Boulder Airport. These gliders are ideal aircraft for orientation flights and flight training because of their ease of assembly and disassembly which allows us to move them to different locations in the Wing. The ASK-21 is widely used in Europe for primary flight training based upon their excellent flight characteristics.
Our instructors are FAA Certified Flight Instructors who instruct to CAP, FAA and SSA – Soaring Society of America regulations and standards. We work as a team establishing goals and new training methods, continually improving our pilots.
If you'd like flights at an "Airport near you", please ask. Many times we can make these arrangements.
We fly year round. Don't be shy because it's Winter.
